ABOUT NEW WORLD RHYTHM

New World Rhythm welcomes a new Music Director  in 2024, Jeunae Rogers. Jeunae brings a refreshing change of focus for the choir who have been busy building up a new repertoire, exploring songs as a vital source of connection; songs of reckoning, renewal, reciprocity and resonance. 
​The arrangements often incorporate instrumentations that support the rich harmonies and evocative soundscapes.  The collection of songs New World Rhythm sing seek to draw participants and audience into a place of deep listening.

JEUNAE ROGERS

​Jeunae Rogers grew up on Kabi Kabi Country, Sunshine Coast, where a deep passion for music was cultivated from an early age.  She is an award-winning performer and has toured extensively as an original music artist, and vocal improviser in festivals nationally and internationally. 
For the last 10 years she has been deepening into the art of teaching voice, and song to humans of all ages.  Currently pursuing a Master of Creative Arts degree with a research focus on vocality as a vital technology for deepening connection to more-than-human worlds. Jeunae’s scholarly pursuits underscore her commitment to artistic exploration and innovation. 
In her capacity as a specialist voice instructor, Jeunae currently teaches at Noosa Pengari Steiner School, Montessori International College, and Tutors in Performance at University of the Sunshine Coast.  She is the Creator and Director of The Memory Loom, through which she directs Ensembles, Workshops, and Vocal/Deep Listening classes. 
​Jeunae was introduced to New World Rhythm in 2023 as a guest Music Director and in 2024 stepped into the role full time.  She brings new breath to what was already an accomplished group and we are excited to have her with us.
