ABOUT NEW WORLD RHYTHMVibrant harmonies, spine tingling arrangements and evocative soundscapes are just some of the words to describe New World Rhythm’s unforgettable performances.
With talented Music Director, Dani Jones at the helm since 2011, New World Rhythm has become a strong musical tribe boasting a vast repertoire of world music. Singing songs in over 40 different languages, each performance promises a diverse repertoire including the rhythmic sounds of Africa, Indigenous Australia, Celtic, Greek and Russian, the sweet, traditional tones of gospel and folk, as well as popular, contemporary classics. New World Rhythm’s unique sound has been a feature at Woodford Folk Festival in 2012 and 2020, Horizon Festival, Diner en Noir, World Environment Day and Ocean Street World Festival. September 2018 saw the choir take a special concert series to Europe with acclaimed performances in Prague, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Vienna and Budapest. In 2019 they accompanied Mama Kin Spender for a special choral performance of their latest album. In late 2020 won “Peoples Choice” Award at the Brisbane’s Rivers Got Talent Event with a special video recording of Hallelujah by Ma Muse. To strive for musical excellence, have fun and experience joy. To create performances of a high standard that inspire and entertain, and have fun doing it. To nurture a community of singers that share the joy and healing benefits of singing together and, above all, build unity in our
singing tribe. |
